Worth flagging honestly: we could not locate a checksum-valid VIN for a diesel Range Rover (TDV6, SDV6, or SDV8) or a plug-in hybrid flagship Range Rover (P400e, P440e, P510e) to confirm their VDS pattern, even though those powertrains were sold across the L322, L405, and L460. Position 9: Check digit
The check digit is a single character calculated from the other 16 using a fixed weighting formula and modulo-11 math. The letters I, O, and Q are never used because they can be misread as 1 and 0. Note the cycle repeats: 3 means 2003 in the older cycle and would mean 2033 in the next one.
